Supporting Israeli Arts and Culture
The Kadar Foundation supports artists and creators from a variety of fields—including film, visual arts, literature, theater, music, and more— whose work reflects the Israeli spirit, the many dimensions of life in Israel, and emerging local culture. The Foundation honors creators whose contributions shape and influence Israeli culture, and we promote work that demonstrates depth, meaning, and social and cultural impact.
The Foundation is committed to supporting Israeli creativity in all its forms, and encourages diverse representation of voices, narratives, genders and identities in the cultural arena.
Nir Oz: Heaven | Hell
The Kadar Foundation is proud to support the new documentary, "Nir Oz: Heaven | Hell" by esteemed director and creator Yaron Zilberman.
The series, which includes 17 episodes and a film, documents the heart-rending, tragic and heroic story of the residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz and their experiences in the wake of the terrible massacre of October 7, 2023.
A quarter of its members were kidnapped or murdered on 10/7.
"Nir Oz: Heaven | Hell" is an intimate and immersive retelling of the trauma kibbutz residents experienced, as well as the community’s fascinating past. It explores the special bond that unites a large family after enduring a horrific massacre, through the present day as they survive, heal, rehabilitate and even grow, while preserving the dignity and memory of the victims.

Documentary Film Grants

We support the production of a selection of documentary films that tell stories of Israel and her people in all their layers, shades and voices. Grants are generally made to films in advanced stages of production, with an emphasis on stories that reveal foundational Israeli values and shared heritage. We believe documentary cinema is an important vehicle to transfer knowledge, strengthen identity, and encourage open and in-depth dialogue across Israeli society.
Awards
The Kadar Foundation Prize for Original Israeli Storytelling is awarded to artists who express the various challenges, values and voices that make up Israeli society through a unique, honest and thought-provoking style. Winners are creative, cultural and social innovators. This prize reflects the Foundation's commitment to fostering Israeli creativity to promote discourse around identity, belonging and a shared vision for the future.
